Whether you start in the heart of the Belluno Dolomites or come from the Mediterranean spa town of Merano – this 244-kilometer route is one of the most varied cross-connections Northern Italy has to offer. On this route, you combine the best of Trentino, Veneto, and South Tyrol for an intense day of riding in the saddle.
With around 4,700 meters of ascent and over 5,000 meters of descent, the route leads you over a chain of spectacular alpine passes. The panorama constantly changes: from the rugged rock faces of the Pale di San Martino and the Rosengarten to the gentle vineyards around Bolzano and the Adige Valley.
The highlights of this connection:
- Peak Conquerors: With the Passo Valles (2,032 m) and the Passo Rolle (1,989 m), you cross the prominent thresholds between the High Dolomites.
- Curve Classics: The Mendel Pass and the Gampen Pass offer smooth riding pleasure and wide turns, while the Forcella Aurine and the Passo Cereda impress with their more original, less crowded character.
- Worthwhile Stops: The route leads you directly past the legendary Lake Carezza and offers exciting insights into the region's culture and history with the Messner Mountain Museum at Sigmundskron Castle and the Gampenbunker.
